Meet Elizabeth S. Jacobson, MD
Board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Elizabeth Jacobson, is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and has served as President of the Alabama Dermatology Society.
Dr. Jacobson attended Auburn University where she was named Auburn University’s Most Outstanding Senior. She received her medical degree from The University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham (UAB) in 1999 where she graduated with honors. In 2010, Dr. Jacobson was awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award, which was awarded by the President of the United States’ Council on Service and Civic Participation for her commitment to volunteerism in the field of Dermatology.
Dr. Jacobson is an expert in all skin conditions, medical or cosmetic in nature. She is a very experienced dermatologist, dedicated to the health and well being of her patients. She utilizes medical, surgical, laser and minimally invasive procedures that improve the health and appearance of skin.
Dr. Jacobson is married to former Hoover Fire Captain, Keith Jacobson, and the mother of three wonderful children.
Fun Facts about Dr. Jacobson:
- She developed an innovative laser treatment for a rare genetic skin disease. This protocol was then studied at UAB and published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
- She has written a children’s book.
- She rides her bicycle to work!
- Dr. Jacobson and her husband, Keith, were awarded the American Heart Association's Heartsaver Hero Award on May 14, 2018, for successfully resuscitating a 4-year-old boy, Zachary, who had drowned in a hotel pool. Zachary is doing wonderfully and has completely recovered from the very scary experience!
